It seems to me that the public in general has had a lot more complaints about windows lately than ever, perhaps it's because more and more people are becoming mac users or maybe Vista really is just a horrible operating system. I like to think this realization is because of the rise in Apple consumers and the awareness of what else is available after so long an oppression of the giant this is Microsoft and only Microsoft in the monopolized OS market.
I'm not here to bash Microsoft, on the contrary, I'm hoping that other competitors such as Apple, Google, Sony, and Nintendo make Microsoft step up to the plate and prove that they still rule Silicon Valley. I actually have faith that they can make products that do what their competitors are doing and thats streamlining and simplifying the digital landscape, and creating software that doesn't crash and give consistent errors.
In fact I've got a great start for you Bill Gates (or whoever is running MS these days) why not connect all the software that already exists;
step 1) whats it gonna be Windows Media Player or Zune Marketplace? in order to be a direct a competitor to the iPod and Sandisk your gonna need to streamline... figure it out and get back to me.
step 2) After you figure out the answer to step 1, make it a part of 360 so that we have the ability to download music.
Step 3) speaking of the 360 lets put a web browser in it, maybe a little program called Internet Explorer, after all that is a big feature of the PS3 and Wii
Step 4) maybe a little far fetched but who knows Zune phone anybody?
Step 5) If you decide to make a Zune phone will you be using that god forsaken OS called Windows mobile? If so clean it up.
So these may be just a few tips and ideas, but I'm an optimist and I think Microsoft can give its customers something better, especially during the financialacolypse where tech marketshare is shrinking smaller and smaller.
